AI is not evidence
AI is not treated as genealogical evidence. AI-generated suggestions do not automatically become facts or relationships in your tree. Original records, user-provided evidence and documented research decisions remain the basis of genealogical conclusions.
What a feature sends
- The specific content needed for that request, and nothing more: a request fragment, not your tree.
- Raw DNA rows and other customers' data stay out.
- Living people and minors are masked unless a logged override says otherwise.
Training
Your data is not used to train models, ours or our processors'. Overseas disclosure can happen when a feature calls an AI processor; under Australian Privacy Principle 8 we remain accountable for it and take contractual and technical steps: no training on your data, minimum fragment, living-person mask, log redaction.
What you see
An AI suggestion is labelled as a suggestion, carries the evidence it looked at, and waits for your decision. Accepting it records that you accepted it; rejecting it is kept too, so the same suggestion is not offered as new next month.
